To avoid unnecessary disagreements and survive legitimate debates, good historians explain why their question is important, exactly what sources they found, and how they analyzed those sources to reach a particular interpretation. In other words, they prove that both their approach and answers are valid and significant. This is why historical texts have so many footnotes. It’s also why history instructors put so much emphasis on how you write your paper. In order to evaluate the quality of your answer to a historical question, they need to know not only the “facts,” but also: Program prowadzą znawcy historii. którzy poszukują ukrytych w różnych zakątkach Polski, unikalnych przedmiotów o ogromnej wartości historycznej i materialnej. The origins of historical studies at the University go back to the early 15th century. In his lectures, Professor Jan Dąbrówka commented on the 13th-century chronicle written by the Bishop of Kracow Wincenty Kadłubek, and in 1434-1436 he even compiled an extensive commentary on this important work. In the late 16th century, history started to emerge as a separate discipline of the humanities. At the time, lectures on history were given by Jan of Kłobuck and his student, Samuel Nakielski. In 1621, Professor Sebastian Petrycy of Pilzno created the position of University historiographer. In the 17th century, lectures on the history of Poland started to become more frequent, especially ones based on the chronicle of Marcin Kromer. After the reform of Hugo Kołłątaj in 1776, history and geography both joined the same faculty, called the Academy of Fine Arts. git-profile-acquirer, respa, universal-compiler-plugin-react-router, caipi, spa-time, React-Redux-Docker-Ngnix-Seed, ljbisheng, bdos-ui, social-collaboration-widget, nice-web, kneejerk, weblogjs, reactcards, react-router-router, gourmet-react-router, react-app-starterkit, antd-demo-syf, reactuate, bisheng-fix, logger-app, observable-router, steamer-react-isomorphic, react_ant_demo, qfproxy, searchkit-universal, patchkit, live-redux, @npm-public/searchkit, parity-sysui-app, react-markups, OK-GOOGLE, tp-core, most-history, datacenter_mobile, trc-client-core, react-redux-starter, weibo-react-app, react-static-webpack-plugin-thor, react-dev, nodezoo-web, concorda-dashboard, spact, fundbase-alpha, portfolio_melanie_bockmann, codenames-redux, prodoc, generator-react-redux-skeleton, topcoder-app-r, voie, rrtr, and more W grze odwzorowano 70 średniowiecznych bitew, w tym 26 nawiązujących do historycznych potyczek tak zwanej Wojny Stuletniej. HISTORY to polskojęzyczna stacja telewizyjna nadająca filmy dokumentalne związane z tematyką historyczną. The term planet is ancient, with ties to history, astrology, science, mythology, and religion. Several planets in the Solar System can be seen with the naked eye. These were regarded by many early cultures as divine, or as emissaries of deities. As scientific knowledge advanced, human perception of the planets changed, incorporating a number of disparate objects. In 2006, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) officially adopted a resolution defining planets within the Solar System. This definition is controversial because it excludes many objects of planetary mass based on where or what they orbit. Although eight of the planetary bodies discovered before 1950 remain “planets” under the modern definition, some celestial bodies, such as Ceres, Pallas, Juno and Vesta (each an object in the solar asteroid belt), and Pluto (the first trans-Neptunian object discovered), that were once considered planets by the scientific community, are no longer viewed as such. w ramach projektu „E-story. Media and history” Finally, history is ever-changing. Question: what did Christopher Columbus do? Well, if you’re like many people, you’re thinking, “He discovered the New World.” Well, sort of. It took a while before the Spaniards realized he’d landed on an island off the coast of this New World. It took even longer for historians to figure out that the Vikings crossed the Atlantic long before Columbus. And now we know that this world wasn’t really “new”—there were civilizations here that far predated organized cultures in Europe. The idea of planets has evolved over its history, from the divine lights of antiquity to the earthly objects of the scientific age. The concept has expanded to include worlds not only in the Solar System, but in hundreds of other extrasolar systems. The ambiguities inherent in defining planets have led to much scientific controversy.          According to the agreement signed two years ago with the University of Orléans, students from our Institute are given the opportunity to study in France. The offer is addressed to first-year students of M.A. studies whose thesis is to some extent related to the history of France. As part of their studies, these students can spend one or two semesters of their second year in Orléans and obtain a double diploma, graduating from both Universities. In order to participate in this programme, students are required to have a good command of French (at least B2 level) and English, since the M.A. exam (with the participation of a representative from the University of Orléans) is conducted in this language. The next recruitment for this programme is planned for January 2018 This handout was written with several goals in mind: to explain what historians do and how they approach the writing process, to encourage you to think about your history instructor’s expectations, and to offer some strategies to help you write effectively in history courses. Discussion/QuestionWhat books to start with? (self.history) Establishment of the Free City of Gdansk with the Treaty of Versailles had a significant impact on the fate of this land. A demobilized Free Gdansk parted ways in 1925 with the military, and the place of colourful hussars in the barracks was taken by the Schutzpolizei (Protection Police) units of the Free City of Gdansk, which in the vicissitudes of history functioned here until the end of the World War II. The history of India told through the lives of 50 phenomenal people. Discussion/QuestionWhat were some important events during WWII that involved/occured in the Soviet Union? (self.history) Maybe you’re at UNC because it was the best school that accepted you, or because UNC has great sports teams. In the big picture, however, you are here because of history, i.e., because of past events and developments. You are here (on the planet) because two people’s lives collided—in the past. You may be here (in North Carolina) because you or some ancestor crossed an ocean several weeks, years, decades or centuries ago. You are here (in Chapel Hill) because, two hundred years ago, some people pooled their ideas, energy, and money to dig a well, collect some books, and hire some professors. You are here (at an institution of higher education) because long ago, some German scholars laid the groundwork for what we call the “modern university.” Establishment of the Free City of Gdansk with the Treaty of Versailles had a significant impact on the fate of this land.
